The Arkansas Paint Horse Club
OCAP
Open Competition for Arkansas Paints
The OCAP program is designed to reward our members who participate in shows outside the APHC club or national pointed shows.  If you participate in any other breed, club or open show with your APHA registered horse, OCAP is for you!

Enrollment is easy. You need to be a current APHC member and you need to enroll your horse or horses annually in the program.  The yearly enrollment fee is $10 per horse.  The enrollment form is available on the Forms page

As you proceed through the show season, you can report your success.  Any APHA recongnized class is accepted.  We have had members participate in everything from Roping and Cutting to Dressage and Eventing. Any time your horse finishes 6th place or higher you earn points.  Points are based upon the number of horses in the class and your horse's placing.  Simply record your placing using the OCAP points form (PAC forms are also accepted!) and send a copy of the show premium or show bill (only the first time if it is a "series").  The cost is $2 per judge per class.  So a single judge class is $2, a double judge class is $4 and so on. All the enrollment fees and point fees go toward the purcase of year end awards. Point forms will be accpeted through November 30th, 2008. A horse must submit 3 entries in a category to be eligible for an award in that category.

Every horse meeting the 3 entry criteria earns an award for participation in the program.  Awards are given to the Champion and Reserve Champion horse in each category based on number of points earned.  There is a Superhorse award given to the individual horse than earns the most overall points each year.  Also, there is a Youth Exhibitor award given to the Youth earning the most points each year.  Points start fresh each year and your horse has be enrolled prior to submitting points to be eligible.
